Thamlapokpi emerge All Lamkang Sports Meet men's football champs

Imphal, May 30 2022: Thamlapokpi were crowned men's football champions in the 56th All Lamkang Sports Meet organised by Lamkang Kurchuknao Kunpun (LKK) at Angkhel Chayang ground beating the home team 2-1 in the final match staged today.

Thamlapokpi were able to take the lead early in this keenly contested game as Paulin found the net in the 4th minute but Angkhel Chayang team did not lose heart and gave in all to pull level via D Renghon in the 35th minute.

After settling the first half in a 1-1 draw, Thamlapokpi carried forward their attacking football and reaped the reward for their consistency with Darpol Sankhil finding the gap in the 36th minute.

Angkhel Chayang also fought hard to make their way back into the game, however Thamlapokpi defence stood firm to keep all threats at bay and eventually walked away with the title trophy.
