Imphal, February 27 2023: CRAU-Khamnam Bazar rode on Ronil Potsangbam's half century and bowling combination of Mehtab Jamal and Ayekpam Uttam to carve out a 92-run victory over Blue Hawk, Khurai at Model Hr Sec and Oriental College ground today.

It was the second straight victory for CRAU after two opening games snub and fourth straight loss for the Khurai team.

Electing to bat first, CRAU posted a competitive total of 220 runs for 7 wickets and restricted Blue Hawk to 128 in 36.5 overs.

After a dismal start to the innings, Ronil Potsangbam hit a 66-ball 72 to resurrect the CRAU innings before Khangenbam Bimol (77-ball not out) played anchor with the help of Lamabam Jotin (43) to take the tally past the 200 run mark.

Samsung Heisnam of Blue Hawk picked three wickets in this innings as Jitendra Bishan Thakur managed two wickets .

In reply, CRAU bowlers kept things tight and left Blue Hawk struggling at 26 for 3 in 9.2 overs with Mehtab Jamal removing two and Takhellambam Kala snatching one.

When Ningombam Jackiechan looked settled, Mehtab Jamal bowled him out for when he was just a run away from bringing up a half century in 52 balls for the 7th wicket and set up the batting collapse.

Mehtab Jamal returned with the best bowling figures of 4/30 in 8 overs while Ayekpam Uttam finished with a three wicket haul (3/29) in 6.5 overs.

Mehtab Jamal who shone with both the bat and ball was adjudged man of the match.

MPSC will face off against CYCLONE in the next match tomorrow at Public Ground Khangabok Part III .
