CCpur, June 20 2017:
The Kuki Inpi Manipur has strongly denounced the recent military operation conducted by the Central and State forces at Natheljang Ebenezer Camp of KNF; an armed group that is currently under the Suspension of Operation with the Government.
An intense and sudden massive military operation launched by the 38 AR and the State police on June 15 at the KNF camp at Natheljang of the KNF/UPF (SoO) group was illegal and condemned by the Kuki Inpi Manipur, said a statement released by Khamliankhup Lianzaw, president KIM.
Khamliankhup also said the military operation at the camp of the SoO signatory was not just illegal but was an attempt to derail the ongoing peaceful tripartite political talks between the UPF/KNO and the Government of India and the Government of Manipur, adding that the move goes against the understanding of peaceful co-existence and tranquillity in the hill districts and also only annuls the cordial relationship shared in the past.
He noted further that under such circumstances the KIM has urged the authority concerned to release all 26 cadres who have been detained unconditionally.
A fact finding team will be sent to investigate the facts, it added.
