Imphal, November 08 2009: A team of Army officers from the neighbouring countries are likely to arrive in the State for which arrangement have been made to accord them a warm welcome, said a State Government official.

Even though the official declined to provide more details, on security ground, on when the foreign dignitaries would reach Imphal, Army sources (57 Mountain Division) tentatively put the arrival schedule as November 10 afternoon.

During their stay in the State, the Army officers from the neighbouring countries will be show-cased equestrian events such as tent pegging besides exhibition on the traditional Arambai display and Sagol Kangjei (polo).

Imphal Pologround is likely to be the venue for these exhibitions, the Army sources maintained while adding that programmes to welcome the guests would be co-hosted by All Manipur Horse Riding and Polo Association, and All Manipur Arambai Association.
