Imphal, March 31 2022: Mantripukhri Battalion Assam Rifles of IGAR (South) and Manipur Police reportedly apprehended two cadres of Manipur Tribal Revolutionary Army (MTRA) and UNLF from Poumai Colony in Imphal East and Iroishemba in Imphal West districts respectively on Wednesday.

According to a PRO IGAR (S) release, the combined team launched operations at the said areas that led to nabbing of the cadres who have been handed over to Heingang and Lamphel Police Stations for further investigation.

Meanwhile, another combined team of Imphal West district commando and 15 AR nabbed a cadre of the proscribed UNLF on Wednesday from Lairenkabi area.

The arrested cadre has been identified as Angom Chaoba Meitei alias Yaiphathoi (34) s/o Gour-amani Meitei of Phayeng Kharang Khunou under Lamsang Police station.

According to a police report, the combined team arrested Chaoba around 8:30 pm and recovered a mobile from his possession.

He has been handed over to Lamsang Police for further legal action, the report added.
