Girl consumes poison, dies

An 18-year old girl passed away at RIMS yesterday after consuming some toxic substance.
The girl from Lilong Chingkham Makha reportedly consumed a toxic substance on January 27.She was found in an unconscious state by her family members outside the house and was immediately rushed to RIMS for treatment.
However, her condition deteriorated.
She breathed her last yesterday at around 3.15 pm.
According to source, the girl had eloped with a youth from Sekmaijin Ngakhapat on September 26 last.
Both eventually got married.
However, the girl was staying at her maternal home at Lilong Chingkham Makha.
The husband visited her on January 25 and took her for shopping and later dropped the girl at her maternal home on January 27.Soon after they reached, the girl's family members saw the couple arguing outside the house.
After sometime, a cousin brother of the girl received a text message from the husband wherein he said that his wife was lying unconscious beside a pond located outside the house.
On checking, the girl was found lying in an unconscious state.
Immediately, she was rushed to RIMS.
Condemning the death of the girl, Lilong Chingkham Makha Development Organisation president Md Firoz Khan has stated that the husband is suspected to have committed some faults in connection with the death of the girl.
While the girl was under medical treatment, none of the family members of the husband came to enquire about her condition.
When visited, the husband's house was found locked.
He further urged the authority concerned to probe the matter.
Body of the deceased has been deposited at JNIMS morgue.
A case has also been registered at Lilong police station in connection with the death.
