KSO unit endorses ATSUM's stand

Imphal, September 20 2021: Kuki Students' Organisation (KSO) of Jiribam and Tamenglong districts has said "it firmly endorses the decision of All Tribal Students' Union, Manipur (ATSUM) to boycott the state government's 'Go to Hills' mission in protest against the government's refusal to table the proposed Manipur (Hill Areas) ADC Bill 2021 in the Manipur Legislative Assembly" .

According to the Kuki students' body, the 'Go to Hills' mission of the state government is meaningless and hollow if the government remains indifferent to the hill people s aspiration for real development and better administration as envisaged in the proposed Bill.

"Therefore, the state government should table the proposed Bill at the earliest in a special session of the Manipur Legislative Assembly if it reallv cares for the growth and development of the hill areas", it added.

The organisation further said that it is committed to rendei all support and assistance at its disposal to ATSUM in any eventuality.
