Imphal, February 14 2023: Mangani Leihun ceremony of RPF president late Irengbam Chaoren alias Bhorot was held today at his Khagempalli Huidrom Leikai residence.

People from different parts of Manipur belonging to different communities and clad in traditional attires attended the ceremony.

A large number of public leaders and representatives of CSOs attended the ceremony.

Even though the bereaved family organised the Mangani Leihun ceremony in the line of Sanamahi traditions, prayers were also offered as per the customs of Christianity, Islam and indigenous faiths of the land.

Processions carrying palanquins decked with the photographs of Irengbam Chaoren which started from different directions conveyed at the Mangani Leihun venue where people offered floral tributes to the late revolutionary leader.

A team of Thang-Ta players also gave salute to the late RPF president.

On account of the Mangani Leihun ceremony, there was traffic jam on Khagempalli road.

Notably Irengbam Chaoren passed away on February 10 after battling terminal brain tumour.
