Imphal, October 08 2021:
New office bearers of Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) have been appointed during a meeting held at UCM office at Lamphelpat on Friday.
The new office bearers appointed unanimously during the meeting were Longjam Ratankumar of HERICOUN as coordinator, CCSK representative Jeetendra Ningomba as assistant coordinator and finance in-charge, UCM representative Joychandra Konthoujam as assistant coordinator, LIPUL representative Somorendro Thokchom as assistant coordinator and MMWO representative RK Ranjit Saha as community coordinator.
Mention may be made here that COCOMI was formed in 2019 by civil society organisations of the state to defend any threat to integrity of Manipur.
When it was declared that the final agreement on the prolonged peace talks between the Government of India and NSCN-IM would be signed on October 31, 2019, COCOMI was formed to show that all indigenous communities of Manipur are living together with harmony and the peace talks should not distort integrity of Manipur at all.
With this objective, COCOMI had been launching different forms of agitation since its inception with the help of the people.
