MSCW assists 10 Self-Help Groups

Imphal, November 04 2021: Manipur State Commission for Women (MSCW) has extended financial assistance to 10 women's Self-Help Group (SHGs) with the objective of empowering women.

A statement issued by the commission's chairperson professor Dr Meinam Binota informed that the commission has been taking up various works to uplift the status of women.

To make them financially independent, financial assistance is provided to women in both rural and urban areas.

As part of this programme, the commission provided financial assistance to 10 SHGs of Nongshum village in Imphal East district on Thursday by a team of the commission comprising chairperson and members Lourembam Dayabati and Chongshing Koireng.

The MSCW team along with SHG members also planted tree saplings on the occasion, the statement added.
