Form C for foreigners' boarding mandatory

Imphal, October 23 2023: All institutions and organisations, public or private including hotels and hospitals which entertain any foreigner as guests must fill Form 'C' and submit it to the Registration Officer concerned, said a notification issued by the Deputy Commissioner of Imphal East district today.

Form 'C' refers to the arrival report of a foreigner.

Duly filled Form 'C' in prescribed format shall be submitted to the Registration Officer concerned within 24 hours of the arrival of the foreigner(s), said the public notification.

The institutions that have to submit the Form 'C' include boarding houses, clubs, dak-bungalows, rest houses, hostels, paying guest houses, sarai, rented accommodations, hospitals, and other premises like nature, furnished or unfurnished, where lodging or sleeping accommodation is provided for free or for reward.

Religious institutions, charitable trusts, public organisations, or any organisation or entity of social or religious should also submit the Form 'C', said the notification.

In case of violation and failure in compliance, suitable action may be initiated under relevant laws and regulations including the Foreigners Act 1946, read with the Foreigner Order 1948, it said.
