Imphal, May 03 2015 :
Thadou Students' Association (TSA) on Sunday flayed the Chief Minister O Ibobi for his statement "we plan to build a New Moreh Township for the purpose of which we have earmarked over 3000 acres of land adjacent to the existing town" .
In a statement issued by TSA-GHQ General Secretary James Haokip, the affected tribal communities are watchful of the government plan on the issue.
He hoped that Government will review its stance for the interest of the people.
TSA will oppose Government plan to acquire tribal land without the consent of land owners and the village chiefs.
He appealed to the Government to focus on basic needs like primary education and quality education, universal health care, connectivity, extreme poverty, sanitation, sewerage, clean administration and proper execution of tribal development project which will empowerment the tribal community.
