Imphal, February 27 2011: A one day District Youth Convention on Empowerment of Youths jointly organised by D-CACUS Education Centre, NIngthoukhong and Youths Foundation for Fitness and Service Manipur (YOFFS) under the sponsorship of Nehru Yuva Kendra Bishnupur was held at Ningthoukhong Community Hall today.

Dr IS Konthoujam, CMD, DCEC and S Nilakomol talked on 'Role of Youth Development' and 'Youths in Manipur � Past, Present and Future' respectively as resource persons.

Around 150 persons from different places of Bishnupur district participated the convention.

Naree Kalyan Samiti, Wahengkhuman, Chingphu Bazar was conferred the district youth club award which includes a citation and Rs 10,000.District Youth Award was conferred to Leimapokpam Chanu Nganbileima of Keinou Phiral Makhong and Kangabam Sushila of Saiton Maning Leikai which includes citation and Rs 5000 .

M Bimola, Chairperson, Ningthoukhong Municipal Council, Ishaque Shah, Additional Superintendent of Police, Bishnupur, L Marjit, District Youth Co-ordinator, Nehru Yuva Kendra Bishnupur and L Meghavarna, Taekwondo International Referee who is also the general secretary of All Manipur Taekwondo Association graced the convention as presidium members.
