Thoubal, November 29 2016:
Joint Non-Government Voluntary Organisation (JNGVO) has today stated that organisations while demanding for any resolution should stop imposing blockade or bandh.
Making the public suffer in the course of their demands which, sometimes, are unreasonable is something unacceptable in the society and in the eyes of God as well.
UNC's economic blockade has caused great difficulties to the people of the State.
Instead of initiating a dialogue with the authority concerned, UNC has instead targeted the common people which in turn can create disharmony among the communities of the State.
Amid the ongoing tension caused by demonetisation and economic blockade, businessmen should consider the plight of the people and should not charge exorbitant prices for essential items, JNGVO said.
If UNC does not call off the economic blockade by tomorrow, JNGVO, Kakching will also launch counter economic blockade, the statement said.
