Take up action against teacher who touched girl student inappropriately: AMSU

The All Manipur students' Union has demanded the authorities concerned to take up actions against an Arts Graduate teacher of a school in Imphal East within 72 hours for allegedly touching a class VIII girl "inappropriately" .
The incidents happened when the teacher was taking a class on 'Solar system' and "grabbed" the hand of the girl and touched her "inappropriately" while asking her to explain "practically" what he had taught, alleged a statement of Zet Pebam, coordination and network secretary, AMSU, Imphal East District Committee.
Furious over the incident, the students rushed to the Principal's office to lodge a complaint, but failed to resolve the issue.
Nearly 40/50 students visited AMSU office at around 5 pm and lodged a complaint regarding the event, said the statement.
The volunteers of AMSU have met the teachers of the said school and the parents of the girl regarding the incident, said the statement and added that AMSU has advised the school officials to suspend the involved teacher until a befitting action is taken up by the State Government and authority concerned.
Befitting action should be taken against the teacher involved within 72 hours to deter recurring of such incident said AMSU.
