Newly created Kamjong district inaugurated in Imphal

Imphal, December 29 2016:
Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh today inaugurated the newly created Kamjong revenue district at Tribal Research Institute at Chingmeirong here in Imphal.
Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam, Revenue Minister I Hemochandra, former Rajya Sabha MP Rishang Keishing and , Parliamentary secretary Victor Keishing were also attended in the inaugural function.
Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh elaborated on the need for creation of the new administrative district and also appealed people to support the government move for developing the state.
Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam while speaking on the occasion said that the newly created 7 district is for developing of the state.

When government move are hampered time and again how could some people blame the government for not taking up developmental works in hill district.
Former MP Rishang Keishing while speaking on the occasion questioned the reason for trying to distort the integrity of the state.
Various developmental project to be taken up in the newly created district were also launched today by the Chief Minister.
Village chiefs from Phungyar and Kasom Khullen along with representatives of the village councils of the newly created district were also attended in the inaugural function.
It may be mentioned that some miscreants had burnt the office of the SDO Kamjong which was utilised as the DC office of the newly created revenue district.
