Khwairamband vendors stage protest, slam Indian Army

Not enough with the torture and killing of a large number of youths in Manipur with immunity granted under the controversial Armed Forces Special Powers Act, 1958 (AFSPA), Indian security forces have started feeding the youths with drugs," Khwairamband Keithel Nupi Keithel Semgat-Sagat Lup has alleged.
Carrying out sit-in-protest in the heart of Imphal today against the rampant drug traffickings in the state, the women organisation said the security forces have started a new warfare in Manipur which is feeding drugs with youths.
The women organisation was pointing at the recent seizure of a hefty quantity of drugs from Col.Ajay Choudhury of the PIB-Defence Wing, Imphal.
Talking to mediapersons on the sidelines of the protest demonstration, M Radhesana, general secretary of the women organization, said that the 'leaders in Manipur' are busy dealing in drugs and consequently, the state is now on the verge of complete ruin.
Recently, a large quantity of drug was seized from Imphal Airport by the Special Intelligence Unit (SIU).
Days after the incident, the SIU was abolished.
Again, a son of a senior Congress MLA was arrested and along with a large quantity of drugs from his house in Imphal, M Radhesana' pointed out.
The women organisation has also demanded repeal of AFSPA-1958 and re-establishment of SIU .
