New Delhi, October 11 2016:
North East helpline is seeking clarification from Gurgaon police for arresting 4 NE ladies allegedly charged of sex trade in spas in Gurgaon.
NESCH(NE HELPLINE) team lead by its founding member & general secretary Dr Alana Golmei, media in charge Lalbruce and executive members Chochon and Edward K Zou met the Deputy Commissioner of Gurgaon Police (East Gurgaon), who is also the Nodal Officer of North East in Gurgaon Deepak Saharan at his office.
NESCH strongly voiced and sought clarification from Gurgaon Police for blindly branding North East women as prostitutes, which have gone viral in social media in a distasteful way.
The truth that the NESCH gathered is that four North East girls were arrested on the pretext of allegedly indulging in flesh trade.
"But we met them and even the police did not want them to be taken into hospital for medical examination", quoted one of the members ."Then why in social media and media outlets, it flashed under the caption: "12 NE girls arrested by police for flesh trade/prostitution in Gurgaan city," they asked.
The truth is 25 people were arrested, including 15 females and only four females belong to NE States-Manipur (they were receptionists) and two from Mizoram (therapists).
Then where are the others ? Why only NE put up in the social media ?" asked the NESCH members .
The four North East women have been visited by NESCH and their statements recorded, which were very contradictory to the version' of Gurgaon police.
Even the DCP East Gurgaon has clarified that he did not put it the way it appeared in the media and merely submitted the names of the arrested persons to the Nodal Officer of North East, Delhi police.
