24 hrs bandh comes into force against acts of NSCN (IM)

Women vendors of Khwairamband Keithel have today called a 24 hour State-wide bandh starting 7 pm today against the violence allegedly unleashed by NSCN-IM.
A protest rally was also taken out today by the women vendors in and around Khwairamband Keithel condemning the violence related incidents allegedly carried out by NSCN-IM.
Kwairamband Keithel Sinpham Amadi Saktam Kanba Lup vice president Th Mangi Leima said that UNC, the frontal organisation of NSCN (IM), which is under a ceasefire agreement with the Indian Government, has been imposing an indefinite economic blockade on all the National Highways of the State.
A team of Manipur police personnel moving towards Tengnoupal was ambushed in whihc 3 police personnel were killed.
Such terrorising act committed by NSCN-IM which is in a peace talk with the Centre is highly condemnable, she said.
She stated that women vendors have resolved to impose the 24 hours bandh across the State starting 7 pm today against the inhumane act of NSCN-IM.
She further urged all the shopkeepers to endorse the bandh and added that any bandh violators will be at his or her own risk.
Medical emergency, religious activities and media will be exempted from the purview of the bandh.
Mangi Leima asked, "What were the Central paramilitary forces doing when the police personnel were ambushed at Tengnoupal and Noney ? Women, particularly mothers, cannot silently bear the loss of the police personnel's lives.
They had sacrificed their lives for the State and we will not remain silent.
We will begin to launch a series of agitation against NSCN-IM" .
