Imphal, June 12 2011: Rangkung Village Authority has said that the decision of halting/stopping of railway construction works will remain unchanged unless Tamenglong district administration resolves the matter of compensation in the interest of the affected villagers.

Reacting to the clarification made by Tamenglong DC a few days back, the village authority said, �It would be wise on the part of the district administration to set aside any claim of land ownership and complaints made by groups and individuals who are the non-residents of the village" .

Saying that the VA does not know the 'so-called' litigation/title suits over land ownership, Rangkhung Village Authority said that the district administration must identify the genuine land owners of the village first.
