Imphal, September 29 2023: Rongmei Naga Luh Phuam (RNLP/Imphal Luangrian) vehemently condemned the abduction and merciless murder of two innocent students, Phijam Hemanjit and Hijam Linthoingambi who went missing on July 6 .

The President, RNLP (IL) in a press release expressed shock and deep concern over the senseless brutal killing of the two students by unidentified miscreants.

RNLP (IL) urged the authorities concerned to take immediate action and arrest the culprits involved in the barbaric murder of the two young students and award stringent befitting punishment as per the law.

It also demanded for the recovery of the dead bodies and hand it over to their bereaved families.

Denouncing the brutal crackdown on unarmed students and women protesting the gruesome murder of the students by security forces, RNLP (IL) urged the authorities concerned to initiate inquiry against such personnel.

Such excessive use of force is a gross violation of human rights, it maintained.

Further RNLP (IL) demanded that the Government should bear the medical expenses of those injured during the protest.
