CM bats for Ramakrishna Mission

The State Government is ready to support Ramakrishna Mission Society in their endeavour to bring quality education in Manipur, said Chief Minister Okram Ibobi while speaking at the foundation stone laying ceremony of Institute of Human Excellence at the Babupara complex of erstwhile Bengali High School today.
The institute will be run by Ramakrishna Mission Society.
During today's function, monks' quarters were also inaugurated by general secretary of Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission Belur Math, Howrah, West Bengal, Swami Suhitanandaji Maharaj in the presence of Chief Minister O Ibobi and Education Minister M Okendro.

In his speech, the Chief Minister said that people of Manipur have been eagerly waiting for the Ramakrishna Mission School.
However, it could not materialise due to some reasons or the other, he said.

In a statement, James Haokip, secretary general, TSA-Ghqs said that Manipur Government's previous attempt to grab the land in the name of smart city had been thwarted with the exclusion of Haolenphai/Moreh from the list of smart cities across The Chief Minister said that the State is now on the verge of witnessing a change in the education sector as many well-known educational institutes are coming up soon, he said.
Though the State has different ethnic compositions having diverse faiths, castes and religions, people are secular, he said.
Ibobi expressed hope that the institute would not only provide the necessary quality based education but also impart spiritual and moral values.
Further, he requested Ramakrishna Mission Society to take up plans to open more branches in other districts as well.
Considering better prospects in the IT sector, the State Government is giving due importance to opening of National level IT institutes in Manipur, he said.
Speaking as the functional president, Swami Suhitanandaji Maharaj said that Ramakrishna Mission institutions are secular and it is not a religion based institute.
He added that such institutes give due importance to spiritual and moral values in shaping the future of a student.
Education Minister M Okendro who attended the function as guest of honour thanked Ramakrishna Mission Society for bringing its educational institutes to Manipur.
The students would now be able to strike a balance between spiritual and material aspects of life, he said.
Officials of the Education Department and former students of Ramakrishna Mission Schools also took part in the function.
