'Let us build a healthy society for children'

Health and Family Welfare Minister L Jayantakumar Singh said that everyone should, understand his/her social responsibility and contribute towards construction of healthy society.
Attending the inaugural function of Intensified Diarrhoea Control Fortnight-2017 in the conference hall of Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences, JNIMS today as the chief guest, Minister L Jayantakumar said, "Cleanliness, proper sanitation and child care are the major steps which are to be maintained by a mother as preventive measures of Diarrhoea" .
The Minister also mentioned that different steps are being taken up by the Departments concerned to control Diarrhoea.

He, however, expressed his deep concern over the prevailing complexity regarding transfer and posting of health staff particularly doctors, nurses and para-medical staff.
The Government is doing its best level to overcome this situation in order to create a conducive atmosphere for giving the best health care services to the people, he added. Jayantakumar also mentioned about the concept of Flying Doctors and its importance in the State.
Sumant Singh, Secretary(Health), Government of Manipur, Th Kirankumar Singh, Director Education (S), Jacintha Lazarus, Director, Social Welfare, Manipur, Dr K Lokendro Singh, Director, Health Services, Manipur and Prof Deben Laishram, Director, JNIMS were also present at the function.
Intensified Diarrhoea Control Fortnight organised by the District Health Society, Imphal East has kicked off today at Modern College, Porompat today.
As part of the inaugural event, a campaign rally was also taken out by the students from Ananda Singh higher Secondary School to Modern College.
Th Chitra Devi, DC, Imphal East, Dr Kh Indra Singh, CMO/District Mission Director, District Health Society, Imphal East, Ksh Subadani Devi, CDPO, ICDS Sawombung Block and Th Jadumani Singh, DO(adm), Imphal East graced the opening function as presidium members.
Speaking at the programme, Th Chitra said, " Intensified Diarrhoea Control Fortnight will continue till June 24.ORS and Zinc dosage should be given to children upto the age of 5 years.
During this event, doctors will demonstrate how to administer medicines when the child is under medical care" .
"In Imphal East district alone, we are targeting to administer ORS and Zinc dosage to 59,558 children.
Around 467 ASHAs will assist in administering the medicines in 65 Health Institute Sub-Centres," she added.
Booths will be also opened in 412 Government and Government aided schools and 197 private schools to achieve the target, Th Chitra further informed the gathering.
