Imphal, June 04:
With a consistent track record of winning various competitions and topping the examination from class IV to X, academic success is not something that is new to Satyaam Takhellambam of Brighter Academy, Sanjenthong.
But this time with just short of four marks behind the topper, he has to settle for the second position in his first public examination, the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examination, 2007.

Satyaam scored a total mark of 611 and letter marks in six subjects to become the second topper.
Without showing any sign of disappointment or regrets, an ever smiling Satyaam said he would like to do research at the Indian Institute of Technology.
When asked whether he would continue his study here in Manipur or go outside, pat came his reply, 'I would continue to study here, but have not decided on whether to join a school under the CBSE or the State Council.
A faithful believer, Satyaam, the eldest son of five children born to Takhellambam Bhupenkumar, a businessman and Takhellambam Ongbi Sunita, a lecturer in Mayai Lambi College of Wangkhei Angom Leikai, said it was with the blessing of God and the support of the teachers at school, tutors and his parents that he has succeeded in the examination.
When asked his opinion on what one should do to succeed in life, Satyaam philosophically stated ' First of all, there should be the yearning inner desire to succeed in life and secondly, there should be strong will power to back up that inner desire along with the single-minded commitment to pursue till the goal is achieved'.
Expressing serious concern over the problem of erratic power supply in Manipur, the second topper recalled that he studied under candle light and burnt her index finger while preparing for her Computer paper.
Worried over the escalating violence incidence in Manipur, he appealed to all for maintaining peace and harmony.
Satyaam disclosed that his favourite subject is English and loves writing poems and reading novels.
