Imphal, June 04:
Capping off her enviable academic record, Khumanthem Diana of Nirmalabas High School, Imphal has topped the High School Leaving Certificate Examination, 2007, conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Manipur, the results of which was declared today.

Always a topper in her class since grade II in Nirmalabas, Diana secured a total mark of 615 with letter marks in six subjects to cap off her high schooling in flying colour.
After her good performance in the first public examination of her life, Diana is now grooming herself for a future career in Engineering in the field of Information Technology.
A resident of Singjamei Thongam Leikai, Diana is the fourth child of the five siblings born to Khumanthem Chandramani, who is the CO of 5 IRB and Khumanthem Ongbi Ibeyaima, who works in the Census office.
Talking to The Sangai Express, Daina said she Mathematics is her favourite subject and would like to take up Engineering in Information Technology as a career.
Toward this end, she said she would join Delhi Public School under Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) for further schooling.
When asked what one should do to succeed in life, a soft spoken Daina said 'one needs to respect their own teachers and parents and concentrate in their studies'.
Inspite of devoting five to six hours daily on her lesson, Daina is by no means a bookworm and blind to the happening around her.
She loves playing lawn tennis and listening to music.
On the issues confronting the State today, she has this to say, 'Violence incidence of killing and crimes that are taking place in Manipur almost on daily basis is very sad.
Frequent calling of bandh and blockade seriously affects the academic career of the students.
So it is high time for all the people to ensure this trend do not continue.
Moreover, increase in crime rate in the society today is unfortunate for all of us'.
