While the people of the State might have lost count of human casualties in violent incidents as it has become the order of the day since decades back, dissectors in RIMs mortuary literally soaked their hands in blood this October as body count raced to the highest tally till date this year.
As per records maintained by RIMS Hospital, october month witnessed a record number of 79 unnatural deaths out of which 47 cases are said to be directly linked to casualties claimed in conflicts and the bullets not differentiating security force personnel, civilians or underground cadres.
Motor accidents accounted for 17 of the deaths, four persons succumbing to sudden collapses, three cases of electrocution, and one case each of drowning, stabbing incident, hanging, lynching, childbirth mortality, found death inside passenger carrier and one case of the victim succumbing to injury caused by a yet to be verified weapon.
