Imphal, January 09: President of the United Committee, Manipur, Sapamcha Jadumani has today categorically stated that the time is over for appealing to the leaders of New Delhi not to alter the territorial boundary of Manipur and the time has now come for the people to unitedly shoulder the responsibility of protecting the territory of the State.

Appeals containing the desire and aspirations of the people have already been submitted to the President of India, Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister, said Jadumani and added that the time calls for the people to come forward and protect the integrity of Manipur.

Speaking to newsmen today, the UCM leader recalled that the NSCN (IM) cease fire was extended to Manipur even though the people had already made it clear that the peace process between the NSCN (IM) and the Government of India should not impinge upon the territory of Manipur.

As such the people should not remain complacent in the false belief that the Indian Government will not tamper with the territory of Manipur.

The time has come for all to get ready and meet any developments, he added.

The UCM president also appealed to all voluntary organizations, clubs, meira paibis and all concerned to come together to meet any eventualities.

Jadumani also added that though UCM is against any designs to tamper with the territory of Manipur, it fully welcomes the peace process between the NSCN (IM) and the Government of India.

A five member team of the UCM submitted memoranda to the President of India, Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister and AICC chief Sonia Gandhi at New Delhi from December 24 to 28, informed Jadumani.
